Interior Design Services in Waterloo

When our client walked into the Chervin Furniture & Design showroom in Elmira, he was drawn to several floor model pieces and quickly realized he wanted professional design guidance to reimagine his new home. With an open-concept layout connecting the living room, dining room, and kitchen, it was important to establish flow and harmony across the entire main floor. Karen, our interior designer, provided layout options tailored to the client’s space and needs, and together they carefully selected furnishings, paint colours, lighting, and drapery to enhance and personalize the home. With the client’s appreciation for comfort, texture, and meaningful touches, the result is a beautifully balanced space that feels both fresh and familiar.

Living Room

The living room is a cozy and inviting space, anchored by a contemporary Bernhardt sofa in a warm white fabric—selected not only for its comfort and clean lines but also for how seamlessly it complemented the client’s existing artwork. A pair of Décor-Rest accent chairs add both symmetry and softness, encouraging conversation while maintaining balance within the open-concept layout. Karen helped the client tie everything together with a Loloi area rug featuring subtle tones that draw on the blues of the artwork and the neutrals of the furniture. The final touch was a Bernhardt console table with textured geometric doors, offering visual interest and functionality while reinforcing the contemporary feel the client was after.

Dining Room

In the dining room, our client opted for handcrafted pieces from Handstone, customized to fit his home’s aesthetic and scale. Karen guided the wood finish selection by comparing samples directly in the space, ultimately landing on a deep, warm brown that grounds the room and complements the flooring. The chairs were upholstered in a warm white fabric to echo the sofa and create continuity between the living and dining areas. A coordinating Handstone sideboard provides elegant storage and display space. Just steps away in the kitchen, customized Amisco bar stools in matte black metal and grey fabric were selected to contrast beautifully with the white cabinetry, offering visual appeal and everyday functionality.
