Our client wanted to transform their walk-out basement into a cozy, stylish weekend hangout. The goal was to create a multi-functional space with lounge seating, a custom bar, games area, and dedicated theatre room for family and friends to enjoy together.
With an open-concept lower level featuring a custom bar (crafted by our sister company, Chervin Kitchen & Bath), a pool table, and games table, our client envisioned their basement as a multi-purpose space for relaxing and entertaining. To bring this to life, Karen, our designer, created a thoughtful furniture layout and guided selections that introduced both comfort and elevated finishes. The result is a lower level that feels like a natural extension of the home, complete with cozy gathering areas and a dedicated theatre room for unforgettable movie nights.

The sitting area was designed as a hub for conversation and relaxation, centered around the spacious Broadway Sectional from Vogel. Its generous size ensures seating for all, making it the ideal spot to gather near the bar or between games. To anchor the space, Karen paired it with a Universal Furniture coffee table featuring a marble top and metal base for a touch of luxury. A coordinating end table and a smaller stone-top table provide balance, texture, and functionality on either side of the sectional, completing the cozy yet refined atmosphere.

Tucked away in its own space, the theatre room was designed as the ultimate destination for movie lovers. Outfitted with three sets of Palliser theatre seating, the seats offer power reclining, power headrests, built-in cup holders, and ambient LED lighting for an authentic cinematic experience. A custom Handstone coffee table with a game board drawer adds versatility, perfect for family game nights when a film isn’t on the agenda. To finish the space, a custom TV unit stretches below the screen, offering essential storage and a polished look that ties the room together.
