One of LeatherCraft’s greatest sources of pride is its top-grain leather. While lots of furniture manufacturers opt to save consumer costs by using “leather-matched” upholstery (a vinyl substitute for leather used on the less visible parts of the chair, like the sides and back), LeatherCraft is adamant about the quality and character of using only the best leather – all the way around.
Top-grain leather is the outermost portion of the hide, gently buffed to give it a smooth, shiny finish without removing any of the “imperfections” on the surface. Each hide is unique because each animal is unique, and therefore bears the marks of life with distinctive stretching, scarring, and texturing – all of which adds another level of distinction and depth to your final piece of furniture. Each piece of leather is protected with a top-coat and handled with care so it remains supple but taut, and ever-so shiny.
